Elite Tournament Ft.Gibson
I love this format. I wish all tournaments would only have 1 day or 1-1/2 days of practice. I think it shows the true fishing ability and you would see who the best really is. I still think you would have KVD and Skeet at the top but I bet Steve Kennedy and Swindle would be at the top as well. I think it's been noted many times by the Elite Series guys that if they didn't have any practice for tournaments Steve Kennedy would rule the roost. They said he has the best natural ability to find fish with no practice.

But this also shows where home field advantage comes into play... according to an article on ESPN Tommy Biffle stayed home and cut his grass during practice, and is leading having still not shown his best spots... I think he has it tied up simply on home field advantage...

He is only leading by one ounce, so he still has his work cut out for him, but I agree home field advantage does help in a situation like this.
I think the number of 17-to-19 pound bags with only one practice day shows these guys really are that good. Stephen Browning had the quote of the day at the weigh in
"If you don't believe these guys aren't the best in the country, just pay your money so they can whip your butt, just like they're whipping mine."
Re: Elite Tournament Ft.Gibson
I accually do better in tournys that i don't practice for. Had my first and only son last year and did not practice for any tournys, I won the angler of the year in my club. Some times practices confuse me and get me down if i can't find'm. I had come close to AOY several years and to get it without practice was crazy. Now my wife thinks I only need to fish once a month. I might have messed up by winning it last year. This year I blanked the first tourny and have an uphill battle to get it again.

And home field advantage pays off again...
