Wading the Cumberland river
Alright river boys give me the scoop. Is now a decent time for a fella to get waist deep in the Cumberland river and get his line stretched. Where is a good place to put in and get bit without staring at 20 people??
Thanks for any help guys. By the way it's all catch and release and if you want to pm instead of commenting on this thread that's cool to.

Not sure how it is right not, but I've figured out from past trips that every RUN will have about a billion people fishing it on the weekends, especially if the water is right.
I now take my canoe and simply paddle past them and put the canoe on a bar, and fish where they cannot get to.
ALSO............UNDERSTAND, it is a thin river, and there will be issues. I really get a tickle out of the fools on the bank who THINK they own both banks of the river. You're SHARING it with drift boats, motor boats, kayaks, canoes, etc, etc. If you don't like sharing, go somewhere where you don't have to. If I tangle your line while drifting through in my canoe, I didn't mean to......**** HAPPENS.......
BTW.........I hope to see you on the water.
Later,
Geo
Re: Wading the Cumberland river
Are you going this weekend Geo?? I play well with others but must admit I really didn't want to be around a Gazillion people. If the weekends are that bad I may reconsider and go during the week instead.

Re: Wading the Cumberland river
Weekends at Cumberland River ain't no where near as bad as some of the weekends I've seen'm stacked shoulder to shoulder on the Ohio there below falls in Louisville, at least not where I go anyway, which is about 35 miles down stream of the dam.
Re: Wading the Cumberland river
Thats the way to do it this time of year. Float it your still gonna get the crowd from tike to time but your gonna get the spots they can't. To me fishing Cumberland means covering some water and pays off in nice quanities.
