What to use to clean brown stains from fiberglass
I have tried to scrub and scrub and scrub the ole Rough River and Nolin brown stains from my white fiberglass boat with no results. What type of boat cleaner do you all use to get white boats clean as new? While were talking cleaning....I primative camp alot at Dale so I am tracking shale and all kinds of stuff on my carpet. Doug this might be for you....whats a good remedy for cleaning carpets in a boat?
Re: What to use to clean brown stains from fiberglass
You could try a good cleaner wax. Meguiars and Mothers both make good stuff. It has a little grit in it and will clean while it waxes. If that doesn't work use a Mr Clean Magic eraser and I almost guarantee it will take it off. Warning though it will slightly scuff your Gel coat.
For your carpet, spot treating just just use Resolve, if you have a huge issue try a commercial cleaner vac.

Seasense Hull Cleaner from Wally World does the job for me. It is biodegradeable and
supposedly enviromental friendly. I have a seperate spray bottle that I apply it with, let
it set for a few (3 or 4) minutes, wipe it with a damp cloth then rinse. Cleans up just like
new. Then I wipe my boat down with "Bass Boat Saver" that will make it easier to clean
up the next time I get into dirty/dingy water.

I use the mildew/stain remover that you can buy at walmart. It has worked really well for me.

Go to the Dollar Store and get you a plastic bottle of stuff called THE WORKS back in the cleaning detergent area. Cost a whole buck. I used to pour some on a small towel and wipe it on. It cleans it instantly. Guaranteed!!! Screw that waxing and all that elbow grease. This is EZ. Let us know what you think.
Re: What to use to clean brown stains from fiberglass
I used to work for a carpet cleaning cleaning company in college.....don't use Resolve unless you can MAKE SURE to rinse it COMPLETELY out. It will BLEACH your carpet over time if you don't. Its a good product, but you have to make sure and get it all out. I suggest getting it steam cleaned by someone like Stanley Steamer or a local place like that.....then ScotchGuard it.

Forgot about the carpet.
Try Blue Coral Upholstery Cleaner 22.8 oz aerosal can with plastic brush applicator. Worked great on carpet in my vehicles. Boat should be a given. Can be bought at Wally & most auto part stores.
Total cost for "The Works" on the hull & "Blue Coral Upholstery Cleaner" for your carpet under $7.00.
