The church allows fishing but you have to stop in the office and get a permit. Another cavaet to fishing is they don't allow fishing on Thursdays and Sundays. As far as the fish go you can catch a fair number of smaller bass and I know there are bluegills in the lake but the several times I have fished it I am not impressed with the size nor numbers. I did catch a 8 or 9 inch bluegill once on a rapala but I have never caught a bass over 14". I am sure there are some good fish in the lake but it gets a lot of traffic and the water is pretty clear so any better sized fish are conditioned...

excellent information... thanks. I was actually liking teh lake because it has few trees around it and would give me a good place to try out my fly fishing stuff when i get it... so small bass and bluegill would be ok while i learn the new stuff...
I have always wondered about that as well. Looks pretty good and fishy.
You might also be interested in the Jefferson County Sportsman's Club. They have a really nice lake and I've seen some monster bass come out of it. I was a member for two years, but didn't go out there enough to justify my membership. I think it's $10 a month, or at least that what it was when I was a member. They also have a trap range and archery ranges. Pretty fun place!

These lakes have just about everything in them seen large cats and large bass. Some people like to discourage others from fishing.
