I'm headed to cave run this weekend and was just wondering how the bass fishing is. I've never fished this lake before so any info would be nice. Thanks

Watch out for the river section. It is not marked with buoys and there are submerged trees everywhere, most broken off at the water line at summer pool. Look for grass on the main lake and beaver creek (which is marked with buoys). Water on main lake last weekend was about 85F and relatively clear.
I fished Cave Run yesterday (Friday). The water was very clear pretty much everywhere except the back of scotts creek which had a good stained color. water temps were from 84-86. Fishing was slow, my dad and I managed about 13 bass but they were all little bank runners, nothing with any size. Fish all the laydowns you can find they were really tight to the cover, morning and late seem to be the best. For some reason alot of the grass was dead all over the lake. The weed bed at Zilpo was pretty much non-existant (which I'm going to make a post about). most of my fish came on shaky head, jig, or a rattle trap. Shad are everywhere and you can find white bass in the jumps all over the place, throw the rattle trap in the jumps!!! we fished deep and shallow and we caught nothing in the deep water, we fished 16-24 feet and had a few good bites but never caught anything, all the fish we caught were pretty shallow either in some weeds or on a laydown. Good Luck.
