Re: shrimp for bait
Frozen shrimp works very good for catfishing. The only drawback is it needs to be kept cool or it will spoil and become impossible to keep on the hook. Try to keep it frozen if possible. If you use it when it's about half thawed it will hold on the hook for a long time. Good luck.

Re: shrimp for bait
Shrimp work great for channels, check with the guy who works in the meat departments at the local chain store IE food lion, and wal-mart they normally have party platters that have a short shelf life they normally dump out the trash go in ask if they might let them go for a few cents on the dollar. When I get to go I check in with the meat department and if he offers a good price toss in a 5dollar bill just as a way of saying thanks. and the colder the better once they get hot blue gill will rip them to pieces; We even got us a bunch one year and baited up circle hooks and treble hooks baited the hooks with the eye of the hook exposed nad a quick clip for switch baits. also place the sinker on bottom and then the bait 12 to 18 inches above it or get a bag of the small foaM BOBBERS TO KEEP THE BAIT SUSPENDED KEEP A GOOD EYE OUT ANDF HANG ON BECAUSE THE GREEN HAS A REAL MIXED BAG OF FISH. HAVE A SAFE TRIP THAT RIVER CHNGES DAY TO DAY CLAM SURFACE DOES NOT MEAN THE UNDER TOWE IS NOT HARD.
