suspended fish
I fish the hollow some but I fish a lot on Laurel lake in southern ky for smallies. The jig bite has turned off for me the last couple of weeks. I have noticed a lot of fish suspended about 20 feet deep over 40 feet of water. What is the best way to catch these fish @ night other than a spinner bait? The lake is as clear as Dale Hollow just no grass or humps.

Re: suspended fish
you could always try to anchor up and fish under submersible lights. this will draw shad in which will then draw in fish.
you could drift minnow rigs or jigs at 20 ft.
you could troll with planer boards but you would need a kicker motor (or a crap ton of batteries) and an accurate speedometer (like a gps) to do any real good.
@ 20 ft, it could very well be trout that you are seeing.

Re: suspended fish
You could also try to drift right over top of them and vertically jig a spoon or blade bait.

Re: suspended fish
Theyre not all suspended. Its just tough right now for everybody, but you can still get a few jig and worm bites.
