What happened?
I noticed on my last fishing trip that the rear latch for my motor cover was loose. It didn't "latch" on anything. Johnson HP
So yesterday I decided to discover the cause of this problem. After I took the cover off, I discovered that the internal latch catch had come off the internal side of the motor cover. WTF? I looked in the motor and find the latch and one out of two screws with which it was attached to the cover. I locate a similar screw from collection of assorted parts and reattached the latch to the cover and all is well.
My question: Would vibration be enough to completely unloosen and cause these two screws to fall out?
