Internet Browsers
I have used Microsoft's Internet Explorer as my web browser ever since I have had my first home computer. Yesterday a friend, who is a computer guru/experter said he only uses Mozilla/Firefox. He said mainly because it is much more secure but also it is easier to use and all around its a better browser.
Just wondering how many other people use Firefox and why?
Thanks in advace,

FIREFOX here........
Mostly because it is faster and safer to use. And it only makes sense that it would be fixed quicker when there are issues. This is because it is open source, and people all over the world are constantly working on making the software better.
Also, the AD-Block software on firefox is fantastic.
Finally, I use something called IE-Tabs that allows me to run firefox all the time and if I need something rendered specifically in Internet Explorer, I can click on a icon within my browser, and presto, IE is launched in a frame IN Firefox. I get all the firefox protections, but it launches IE to run that "special" IE page.

Re: Internet Browsers
The first thing that attracted me to Firefox, besides the security, was the tabbed browsing. That just makes it so much easier to keep multiple web sites open, plus you're only running one instance of your browser, so it conserves memory/CPU. But of course, IE now has it too. Ad Block is also fantastic, although it seems that more and more sites are incorporating ads that Ad Block can't handle. But besides Ad Block, there are literally hundreds of other add-ons available, much more than with IE, because as George said it's open-source, so everybody and their brother is writing software for it. Some of them are pretty lame, but there are add-ons to do just about anything you might ever want your broswer to do, if you're so inclined. Plus it's a cleaner, simpler interface, or at least it seems so to me. You don't have Microsoft adding all kinds of clutter to it that you have to turn off it you don't want to see it.

Re: Internet Browsers
I routinely use the following browsers:
Chrome
Firefox
Opera
Safari
Chrome and Firefox are the two I use the most. They seem much, much faster and have less bugs and security vulnerabilities. My preference is Chrome.
I quit using Internet Explorer at least 7 years ago and maybe longer.

My favorite internet browser? MY WIFE. "Honey, go look this up for me". She feels empowered and knowledgeable, and I avoid the frustration of IE7.
