I am going next July and I was just wondering what kind of tackle I will need to bring. The lake is clear water with walleye and pike. I plan on taking a 7' medium spinning for the eyes and a 7' MH baitcasting for the pike but what lures do I need to start collecting. I am trying to keep it simple and light weight because of the weight limits on the float plane.

Hey.......give me a ring sometime...........I can help you with some of this, and we REALLY need to hookup to do some fishing.
I've taken spinning gear for most of my trips. When fishing out of a canoe, I find them a little easier to manage, especially in the wind.
The couple times I have taken bait casters, I've been happy with them, but I found myself more often than not using spinning gear instead.
July is a Tough time up there.......Eyes may be tough, but you should be able to hammer plenty of the other toothy critters.
Can you guys take live bait? When we did a flyin, there was a small "bait" lake on the property and we'd bait minnow traps and get darters that we used for bait for walleyes. THAT really helped quite a bit. I don't think we ever caught eyes on the flyin trips on artificial.

This might sound crazy, but last year my buddies were tearing up the walleye with Cabin Creek pumpkin lizards. They ended up fighting over the last bag.
1/4, 1/2 and 1oz jigs with curly tail grub. tip with worms and/or minnows. some of the old timers up there will cut pike into strips and use them but i am not sure of the legality of this.
you will catch all the walleye you want on jigs like this and the occasional pike. my dad always uses chartreuse, or bright orange.
they also catch a lot of pike on the fly up there ;)
