I've said it before.........I don't think we have the stomach to fight our enemies........and I hope they NEVER LEARN THAT.

Awesome photos. Thanks for sharing that link. I could sit as a kid and listen to my Grandfather tell those stories for hours and hours on end...and I picked up something new every time. Seeing those photos took me back there.
I don't know that I would say we don't have the stomach to fight our enemies...it's just a different world and a different time I guess. I still believe that Americans will always find the resolve to ultimately do what has to be done in times of crisis. I'd also like to think that we've learned a thing or to over the decades that would keep us from ever reaching the point where we have to drop "The Bomb" again.
Re: Would we DO this today??
I hope we NEVER have to use the bomb again......I hope NO ONE ever does, but I'm afraid that may be a short lived wish.
My comments about the stomach to do what needs to be done is really twofold. I believe we have the best prepared, strongest and MOST advanced military force in the world, and the fact that it is all volunteer is simply amazing. With that being said, I think our politicians and MEDIA don't have the stomach to fight the battles that are REQUIRED.
Re: Would we DO this today??
Short term we have good resolve - our military is awesome!
But long term the political leaders of the military start losing that resolve with the first negative sound bite. I hate to think what would happen to us if we got into a prolonged engagement with someone that could challenge our military - we need to stay strong so very few want to take on our military might.

Agreed and the media and politicians should stay out of it. Let the Military fight the fight.

That I agree with.

Now if we could just get the politicians and Congress and Pres to see that and send our guys to where they need be. I think sometimes we are a little too tolerant.
