$1.9 Million - Down the crapper.
It's nice to see that the American taxpayer got a nice hosing on this one. I feel quite certain that we could have put $1.9 Million to better use somewhere on American soil, don't you? What a joke.

Re: $1.9 Million - Down the crapper.
It's so sad that this happens. It just re-enforces my belief that we are way to free with our money and gifts.
There are many schools in eastern Ky that could have used just a portion of that money. I'm willing to bet that none of it would have been auctioned off.
Re: $1.9 Million - Down the crapper.
$1.9 million? A drop in the bucket compared to the $1 trillion we've flushed down Iraqi and Afghan toilets.
You're right, DJD, we're way too free with our gifts, especially when the "gift" we're giving includes American lives.
Re: $1.9 Million - Down the crapper.
I agree we all give to much away instead of spending on our own people who are poor and/or unemployed. Put that money into our economy and create jobs, improve healthcare and education. There are so many dirty politicans and high up government officials in some of these poor countries that have earthquakes, floods etc who knows if the money we all send is getting to the people and rebuilding. Prime Minister Harper went personally down to Haiti to ensure our financial donations were being used properly as word came out the high up officials were keeping it. That is my concern. Now this example George gave us is one example of how corrupt some are.
