If the Pubs win big in November.........
Here are things I expect to happen.
* GDP will grow FASTER in 1 quarter than it has under 2 years under the Obamunists.
* Unemployment will IMMEDIATELY fall. 2011 first quarter unemployment will drop by a FULL percentage point. Maybe 2.
* Stock Market will stabilize. No more 500 point gains and 600 point losses. That is a little tougher.......but Maybe.
(*
If those things prove true..........I bet NOT a single Leftists here will admit that Obamunist policies lead to this in this mess in the first place.
Lets see........
Re: If the Pubs win big in November.........
It's kind of sweet to see that someone still believes in the tooth fairy.:)
If things improve that dramatically in the first quarter of '11 (which they WON'T), thank Obama, no matter who wins in the November elections. If the Pubs win big, and things start to turn around late in '11, give the Pubs the credit. But there's no way on Earth that they're going to take office, get big changes PASSED, let alone implemented, and see dramatic improvement, all in just one quarter. The Dow climbing, due to increased consumer confidence, maybe. The rest is just magical thinking, pure pie in the sky. Won't happen. And no, this is NOT a defense of Obama's policies, just an acknowledgement of the REALITY that even if voting in the Republicans is the panacea you seem to think it will be, it's going to take some time.
Re: If the Pubs win big in November.........
It looks llike the pubs will win both the house and the senate and I want them to. The pubs are just as crooked as the Dems but the people want Obama's policies and agenda stopped. Right now the pubs are the lesser of the evils to choose from. That is how Obama got elected. McCain wasn't much of a candidate. The people didn't have much to choose from.
Re: If the Pubs win big in November.........
My predictions are ALL based on consumer confidence....NO Legislation.
* A win by the PUBS probably means rollbacks in the future. I bet by end of first quarter 2011.....IF the pubs win, every one of the predictions I made will be true.
* A win probably means no NEW taxes, except maybe the BUSH TAX cuts........if those are not renewed, well that particular bet may be off.
* A win means TRACTION for PUBS for the next 2 years, meaning the dems will definitely back off, or LOSE even more seats.
* A win means NO Energy BS TAXES....
All of the above will lead to STRONG consumer confidence. probably more localized jobs, and maybe, just maybe STRONGER confidence in the gubment.
Yea, if they do happen, I hope the Leftists can admit why.
AND if they don't happen......I can STILL blame Obama........a WIN, WIN....gotta love it :) :)
Re: If the Pubs win big in November.........
You know.......most of Europe is already pulling out of this "global" recession. WHY......they have learned from the mistakes we're beginning to make.
Re: If the Pubs win big in November.........
Geo, you have to forgive Roadtoad. The Liberals/Leftests/Socialists believe that all things come from legislation and that people cannot do anything on their own. Its what they call SOCIAL ENGINEERING.

Re: If the Pubs win big in November.........
.............Then the Dems will start blaming everything on the Pubs beginning 1/1/11. Bonus prediction: Fast forward to the next November when the Dems win. Repeat cycle - blame Dems for everything beginning 1/1 of the next calendar year.
Those are free folks - you'll have to call the 800 number to get my "5 star locks". And hey, with great FREE winners like the one above you know you're going to want to call.

What do you mean by "rollbacks?" I'm just asking for a clarification. To me, when you say "rollbacks," I think "tax rollbacks," which doesn't jibe with your "NO legislation" statement.
* A win probably means no NEW taxes, except maybe the BUSH TAX cuts........if those are not renewed, well that particular bet may be off.
So, does a win by the Dems mean more new taxes in the first quarter of '11, or am I reading too much into that statement?
* A win means TRACTION for PUBS for the next 2 years, meaning the dems will definitely back off, or LOSE even more seats.
Can't argue with that. But again, that's not gonna happen in a 3-month time frame.

Again, let me reiterate that I am NOT saying that every one of your predictions won't come true. It may well be that every one of them does. I just don't see all that happening in the first quarter of '11. Our economy is not some 14-foot river fishing boat that can turn on a dime. It's more like an aircraft carrier; it takes a little time to turn it around. Especially when it comes to unemployment and the GDP. I mean, look at the reasons why unemployment is so high. Basically, businesses have less money than they used to, and have had to lay people off because they couldn't afford to pay them. So what you're saying is that just because the Pubs won the elections, all those businesses are IMMEDIATELY going to have a bunch more money in their coffers, and will be able to re-hire a bunch of people, and thereby the GDP is IMMEDIATELY going to rise substantially. Yes, both of those may well be the EVENTUAL results, but what you're predicting is a sudden economic turnaround of historic proportions, which I think is hyperbole.

One of the dumbest things I've posted in a while (and that's saying something). If the Dow jumps due to increased consumer confidence caused by a Republican win, there's no way that Obama can take credit for that.
Re: If the Pubs win big in November.........
My prediction: the republicans will win a number of seats in the house and senate this November. It will turn out to be another case of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss". People will again become disguisted with the repubs not accomplishing anything and the dems will take everything back in 2012.

Re: If the Pubs win big in November.........
Andrew, I would agree with you, except for one thing--the large number of incumbants of both parties that are losing their primaries to newcomers. And I don't just mean Tea Party cases either. It is happening in both parties and I think a lot of people are finally waking up AND TRYING TO GET NEW PEOPLE IN WASHINGTON. That is the CHANGE we need.
