Crappie bite
With the cool mornings and the lower water temps, for those who are interested, the bite has been excellent. Fish are moving up to shallower water in the AM, and are taking jigs and and or minnows. Fished Patoka over the weekend and caught a good mess around the Lick fork area, and fished Sun. morning at Celina, with good results. Fish are around 10' deep in 15' of water or so, holding tight to cover. Electric chicken hair jigs, have been my bait of choice. Fishing should only be getting better in the weeks to come, BRING ON FALL!!

Re: Crappie bite
yea we've been slayin them pretty good as well. we've been using minnows and you are right about the cover, it has had to be right next to it. even with cloud cover they have been wanting the minnows and jigs basically on the cover. haven't been catchin any big ones, but where I've been doesn't really hold them.

I'd fish for them a lot more if they all got that big!
