I really like the song, catchy tune and he has a nice voice. I thought there was freedom of speech in America. He said nothing wrong that I could see but I am a non politically correct person. He has a right to say and sing what he feels. I hope he sues and takes down that school. i hope lots of people like the song and records it and makes some money from it.
This song is well written, perfomred by excellent musicians, and recorded in a quality studio. To top it off the message is straight to the point, and frankly written in a way that should not offend anyone. This just goes to show that freedom of speech only exists as long as you arent talking bad about the Premier... he will have you thrown in the gulags...
You do have freedom of speech, but not freedom from the consequences that result from what you say. Wasn't anything bad in the song and I'm not sure what the exact reason for the firing is perhaps violation of conduct code or something like that.
Do we really know if he was fired for this? There really isn't a story in this link, just some guy saying he was fired. I would like to know if it is true or if there is more to the story. I don't believe he could be fired just over this song.

Thanks for the link. Near the end it says, "A number of supportive parents met with the principal and asked for reinstatement, but the school district is remaining firm. The Williamson County superintendent refuses to say why the coach was fired, but he speculates that it could be an issue of how he obtained the parents' e-mail addresses -- even though the e-mail was sent from his personal account." That sends up a red flag to me. If those parents provided their email addresses so that the school could communicate information to them regarding school business - how they're children are performing, disciplinary actions, etc. - and this guy obtained them from the school and started sending them emails from his personal account, emails that had nothing to do with school business, then the school not only was justified in firing him, I don't see how they had any other choice. After all, if he took email addresses, what else did he take? Names and home addresses? And who else might he have shared it with? I don't care where you work, if you misuse people's personal information, which they have provided to your employer with the expectation that it would be kept confidential, chances are you are going to get fired, and for good reason.
