gonna be fishing a open tourney on Oct.2, and was wondering what lures, areas, patterns to look for. ive never fished there in Oct. and could use some help. gonna try a get there before then, but family life keeps me tied up most of the time.

Fishing is slow there. Fished a tourney there this past weekend. Guys who won had 4 fish with a total weight of around 5 pounds. I only caught 2 on a point that were not even keepers with a small crankbait.
The best bait I've used on Guist is a map... to another lake!

That's pretty funny. More often than not I've always done decent fishing there, its just that I've never fished it this late in the year.

That is funny. I think that can be said about a number of lakes. I have a friend that thinks Taylorsville would be perfect if they filled it with concrete and made it into a parking lot.
if its the same tourney the kecc ky labor cabinet is putting it on. the tourney starts 7am and ends at 11:00 am registration is from 5:30 am -6:45 am . $40 entry 60% payback $5 big fish 100% payback. the first and second place teams get plaques. i got this information from a lady that works there.
