Update on the Selective Shad Eradication at Lake Waveland
The DNR conducted a follow up inspection on 11-15-10 after the selective shad eradication project that was conducted on 11-4-10 and concluded that the lake was ready for a little restocking. They were planning on stocking up to 1790 Musky on 11-17-10 and up to 17,900 Largemouth Bass on 11-18-10 depending on the hatchery availability.

When does Waveland open in the spring?
I can't wait to get out there on my favorite lake. Cabin fever is set in, and this is the lake to get rid of it.

Do you ice fish those strip pits you got?
Re: Update on the Selective Shad Eradication at Lake Waveland
Not really. I drink beer and watch a couple die hards do it who like it, but I can't just sit there and jig.
I do like to sit in the Jeep and glass the wildlife from some cutouts in the woods. It doesn't replace bass fishing.
I need something like a salt water fishing trip to south Florida for a couple weeks. Thats what I really need, not people asking me multiple times a day, "Got your christmas shopping done yet?" I know they are just being sociable, but it and the cabin fever are doing a number on my happiness.
