Sandhill Cranes Visit Lake Cumberland
Wow....:):), I was amazed this weekend to hear the calls of xxxx birds coming from the Clifty Creek area. Took a while to figure out what they were....then "Sandhill Cranes". Apparently the had stopped off during their migration south.
This was a first for me, didn't realize they migrated through here. Will be looking for them again next year.

They flew over the property I used to own for years. Miss them now in glasgow, but imagine they stop over the lake. Want to see a lot of them? texas.

Last few years we've seen them flying over the house in large groups - I wondered if they were spending the night on the Ohio? Pretty neat listening to the calls . . .

Yes, very cool! I'd love to see/hear those cranes in person. Reminds me of family trips to Bombay Hook when I was a kid.
