Re: braid line and flipping?
Have you tried Berkley Fireline? I don't use braid much but I have used the Black Fireline which seems to have more visibility.
Re: braid line and flipping?
Suffix makes a neon orange braid, PowerPro makes a red braid, Spiderwire makes a white braid, Berkley makes a white braid, Stren makes a fluorescent glacier blue braid (like night line and glows under a blacklight too)............I could go on and on.......
Re: braid line and flipping?
I love to fish with braid, however most the waters I fish are stained to slightly muddy and the color most common with braided lines are moss green. The major problem is I cant line watch, its very hard. Any recommendations, is there any other braid I can use that is a different color without compromising the line? Ive heard of polor ice and a few others, I mainly use power pro line. Thanks
Stick with PowerPro .... & buy the hi-vis yellow. I've used PowerPro 10/2 hi-vis yellow for several years, Crappie fishing, & even in only slightly stained water I still get fish. And they're not always Crappie ... !! It's not uncommon for me to have a LMB, SMB, Drum, Catfish, or any number of other species grab the bait on the line.
You'll probably have to order the yellow PowerPro from an online store, if your local outlets only carry the low-vis version. Sportmans Whse carries it online, so I'm sure they have it in the store.
I'm a jig slinging Crappie angler, for the most part ... and I use hi-vis lines on all my outfits, whether braid or mono. I HAVE to be able to see the line, in order to detect those really light "tics" that Crappie are famous for.
