Unbelievable Video - Gunman in Florida
Wow.
This video is about as real as it gets. Gunman opens fire at a school board meeting in Florida and it's all caught on video. How in the world the guy missed everyone he shot at is beyond me, but thankfully he did.
The crazy people like this that walk among us everyday are the primary reason I believe in concealed carry. I'm not worried about protecting my stuff and wouldn't draw a weapon for it...it's protecting my life from messed up individuals that do things like this:

Watching that sends chills down my spine. I can't believe the woman who tried to knock the gun out of his hand from behind? That was foolish.

I thought the same thing Don. If you are gonna do that you better make it work. Scarey boys truely bonechilling, Brian is right, they walk among us everyday, cold chills.
Re: Unbelievable Video - Gunman in Florida
Cold chills is right.
I can't believe the lady with the attempt at knocking the gun out of his hand with her purse either. I admire her courage trying to help her colleagues, but that was pretty dumb. If I was going to attempt that, I believe I would have chosen to find something hard before I went back in...and go across his skull with it.
The board members seemed pretty calm as they tried to reason with the guy. How he missed every one of them from that range, I'll never know....almost makes me think he missed on purpose? The police said there were bullet holes, so the dude wasn't shooting blanks.
It's sad from the standpoint that he was that mentally disturbed, and frightening when you know there are others out there just like him every day struggling with it. The security guard is a prime example of how just 1 legally armed citizen can prevent a tragedy in a situation like this. Had he not been there and wounded the guy, he would have eventually killed multiple victims before turning the gun on himself.

No doubt those guys were cool while staring at a gun. That first shot looked like it hit but I guess the guy was so shocked he was shot at he just folded.

I would have folded too...right after defecating in my Fruit of the Looms. First you say it, then you do it. S#@!

This tragedy got me thinking.....I know it's dangerous! Anyway it would be nice to have a class on self defense with a handgun. I'm mean hands on scenarios and range time mixed in with ways to disarm and ways to protect yourself. Know what I mean? You can learn some pressure points for getting out of a hold or holds to put someone down if you had too.
Anyone know of this type of class??

Not too much of the disarming a guy with a gun kind of training around these parts. But there is a range down near nicholasville somewhere that does training similar to I.C.E.'s combat focus training. For some good information on self defense, watch teh TV show The Best Defense on Outdoor Channel every wednesday. You can also join their forum at downrange.tv.... excellent source of both armed and unarmed self defense on there. Rob Pincus and Michael Janich are two very well educated guys in their field and do a good job of sharing that information.
