John Yardmouth is at it again

He wants congress to re-enact the assault weapons bill. When will these people get it, there is no such thing as an assault weapon only assault people. He went on to say it wouldn't do any damage to anyone having the right to defend themselves or to own sport or hunting equipment. I have a 30-06 hunting rifle not DEAMED an assault rifle. With some minor changes I can make it one bad Mojo life taking machine if I so desired. That would make me the problem NOT GUNS.

I've heard that Mexico supposedly has some of the most restricting gun laws and look at the carnage there . . . legislation doesn't work.

I say we start making harsher sentences and enforse death penalties with these murdering whacko's of the world. The bleeding hearts say it doesn't work but is proven to be more than effective in other countries. Ryan and his brethern lock these fools up only to have to deal with their sorry arses a few weeks or sometimes days later. I'll give more of my tax dollars to build more prison's to house these scums of the earth.

Bingo. What I REALLY dislike is the inconsistency of sentencing, ESPECIALLY for violent crimes. For one person the punishment may be 15 years, for another it may be 50, and yet another life without parole. Nowadays its a gamble for any justice-seeking victim to have a shot at actually getting a "maximum penalty" for a crime. Why not have the "maximum penalty" be the ONLY penalty?
BUT..... what if we wrongly convict an innocent person?
Personally, I own several guns and love shooting. But, I think there is no place for tactical/assault weaponry in society outside of military and law enforcement. jmo.
