whats the scoop on hydrafoils like stingray
Sting Ray and other hyrafoils now have a model that mounts without drilling into the cavitation plate.
I never considered a hydrafoil due to the drilling into the motor issue.
Now that there are models that do not require drilling I am considering one.
My questions are:
Do they increase top end?
I assume they would improve hole shot, but how much is handling improved?
Is the turn radius increased, decreased or about the same?
Will I need yet another new prop?
Re: whats the scoop on hydrafoils like stingray
When you are running full speed the hydrofoil should be out of the water so it should not affect top end.
You might be able to use a bigger prop since it will help you get on plane, but you won't have to.
It should help the boat handle at lower speeds but I don't think it will change the turning radius.
