I use Berkly Big Cat 20# test...i use the rubber bobber stoppers then a small bead followed by a medium sized bead, i then put an 8 to 10 inch float followed by a bead, sinker, bead sinker, bead then my swivel big cat 20# leader followed by a 7/0 gamakatsu hook...i usually use whole bluegill or creek chubs or cut bait.
Just looking for some others rigs to see if i can better my own... also has anyone used the offshore line from bass pro for big cats...does it have a lot of stretch or memory? hows the strength?
I rarely fish the pay lakes due to being 20 mins from two ramps on the Ohio River. I use Berkley Big Game 25# or Offshore 20# and have no complaints on either. The Offshore has not had any failures that could not be traced back to operator error:( It spools up smoothly, casts well, and does not seem to develop a lot of memory in my experience. It is a good line for the price IMO.
