Hey guys I have a 89 200hp johnson that purrs like a kitten.(new powerhead) The problem is the cover and paint is definably starting to show its age and I would like to clean it up for this season. Any good tips on how to repaint the motor or any ideas on who to take it to and have it done cheap?
If you want to get with minamal cost Ive that Krylon Fusion does a really good job. I would try it on something before shot the cowl though.
I would check around for the decal kit for your outboard on the internet. Then have the cowl painted some place like Maaco. If you do teh prep work yourself, the paint job should be super cheap and come out pretty good. then do the decals yourself. Whats really cool is you could posiibly find a newer style decal that would really set that outboard apart from the others. Is it the old gray ones? Is it a Fast Strikr or GT model?

Its the old gray one, I think its the GT, but I couldn't swear to it tonight. I will have to look.

How far north and how much would i be looking at?
25 minutes across the river. how big is it and what color? might need to see a pic of it before i know anything
