KY river muskie

KDFW has been stocking muskie in pools 6-14. Anybody having any luck with these yet or have they not had time to mature yet?

Wanna get out this week, can't decide to go up river or just stay down here in pool 4.

Friend of mine fishes the river a lot and he has only caught 2 in his life.

I have seen people muskie fishing the river for the last couple of years though. Never seen anyone catch anything but people are trying.

I have fished the Nonesuch pool for over 20 years and have hooked 1 muskie in all those years-very large (40"+) near the lock while fishing for bass on 8lb. test. Did see one two years ago but he was small in a creek in the fall.

Haven't been out since early Dec. This is the time to crappie in pool 4. Still to early for white bass or black bass. If I get on the water this week I will give a report.

Pool 4 has produced some nice muskie this time of year. Have seen several 40"+ come out of there in Feb 09 and 10, but I have not been so lucky.

Looks like the next week+ is out for fishing KY river. Corps projects rise of 3 feet by friday and with the rain next week will probably make it a mud bath for a while.

Maybe that dereaded Taylorsville.

iv caught 8 in pool 2 .... 7 in dreanon springs creek one in twin creek and my first one in the little ky river caught all of them by accident and a mini strike king black and blue spinner 4 of them came in one day in dreanon springs needless to say iv have hung that bait up when i fish the ky river lol
