Don't impugn my birthplace
My goodness, it's like a circus up there in Frankfort!
You've got Beshear and Williams squaring off in one corner...with each trying to set up the other with a bad report card so they can point fingers later on the campaign trail...
and Shaughnessy and Thayer in another....calling each other names.

I mean come on!
Re: Don't impugn my birthplace
I can't stand David Williams. Burkesville should disown that guy. Even his voice annoys the hell out of me....

Just for the record, the governor does not control the legislature. He submitted a buget as per protocol. The house approved it (both parties), the house offered two alternitives, the senate rejected all.
Now the governor has had to call another special session of the legislature in order to complete the process.
The stonewalling is out of control for sure. For the sake of being politically correct, some are willing to jeprodize the well being of some of the most vunerable citizens (children, disabled make up the vast majority of medicaid recipients).
Now I see you making a face about the disabled and being freeloaders, but I would challange you to come with me to a supported living home with three cerebral palsy residents for one day of assisting with their care. Then onto a second house with 3 residents with profound mental retardation.
Or the best yet, come with me when I take two of these fellows out for a day of fishing at a farm pond or out on the river for a day. Just watch how Richard reacts with a 2 lb catfish on his line.
You may have a little different veiw at the end of the day.
So the senate does not want to let the Governor govern. They use stonewalling to make their points. Can you imagine if NO ONE was willing to compromise, the only way to govern then would be DICTATORSHIP or complete shutdown. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Re: Don't impugn my birthplace
This is pobably my primary reason of oposition to the Tea Party Movement. What I see in their message is "My way or no way".
Re: Don't impugn my birthplace
We all see those driving the Dodge Ram 3500 turbo diesel 4x4 with the pintel hitch and the handicapped sticker in the window. I'm not referring to the malingerers and the frauds when I mention the disabled out there needing assistance.
Funny to note that the fellow that was arrested for stomping on the ladies head at the R. Paul campaign event said he was on disability due to a bad back. Talk about hypocrisy, he could reduce ferderal spending if he got a job.

Isn't every party that way? Look at what just happened in this country with the Dems controlling Congress. Bills shoved down our throats with little to no consideration of what the people wanted. They lost their arse in the last election because of it.
Look at what just happened in Wisconson. Both parties dug their heels in and then the dems ran away. It happens with GOP as well they all sukk to some degree with their personal or party agendas..... Or maybe it should be special interest group/union agenda.
Re: Don't impugn my birthplace
I really do appreciate the two party system, democracy. Think we have a good version of democracy as well. Division of powers, 3/4 approval for many actions all seem to keep a mob rule democracy in check.
I'm all for a three and four party system as well, but I won't be joining the Tea Party.
I think the governor is doing a good job so far. These are really slim pickens times and we are not in as dire straights as a lot of states.
Kentucky is a no strike state for Commonwealth employees. We have the merit system in place that has been a substitute for union representation. Works similar to a union with board members elected by employees but also has appointees by the governor on the board that gives the merit system balance. Maybe some unions could learn from the merit system?
Re: Don't impugn my birthplace
I agree I love the two party system because one party a week is not enough.
I hate Williams but I hate Jerry more. So I maybe moving to IN to get away for the next 4 years lol.
Re: Don't impugn my birthplace
before you judge, ask maybe. I have a handicap tag on my truck, while I do suffer from pretty bad arthritis at times, that tag is my truck for my passenger, who half the time is on O2, and cant drive her vechicle.I rember once having a women say to me "sir! you are using a secure spot for handicapped, when I got the wheel chair out of the truck, I asked her if this looks like a pogo stick.
