Loon Pit 3/12

Went to Loon Pit at Bluegrass FWA for few hours this afternoon. Spent a little time motoring around checking out the lake, this lake doesnt seem near as weedy as Bluegrass. Started off with a Red Eye shad with no luck then tried flippin a jig shallow in the flooded brush. Managed to get 2 hits on the jig but missed both on the hookset. Finally with about 30min left to fish I picked up the spinnerbait rod for the first time this year and caught 6 decent bass and had another come off. None over 18'', biggest went 2.3lbs.

As long as they were 15" they'd weigh in at Patoka. Hoping to put a few in the boat tomorrow. =))

I bet I know about where you caught it. Flowing water ring a bell?

Went back to Loon on Sunday for about an hour or so after work. Cooler temps seemed to kill the spinnerbait bite. Only caught 2 shorts.
Looked like a small tournament leaving when I got there. Anyone know how it went?
