Falls of Ohio report
Water was rough and it was quite windy. But the fish were biting. Almost right as we got there my smaller pole got de spooled by a runner. Caught 3 perch and two stripers on jigs. Decent size to them but nothing too heavy.
My cousin managed to catch an eel there. My first time ever encountering one in person. I was pretty amazed to look at it.
Only fished for about two and a half hours but i was pleased with the river today.

Were you fishing from the bank? How big were the stripers?

Re: Falls of Ohio report
Thanks for the report. The river is still too high for me to launch my boat and feel comfortable with it.

Re: Falls of Ohio report
Yea, we were bank fishing. The stripers were around 3-5lbs. Nothing big yet, but a good time catchin fish.

Re: Falls of Ohio report
I saw that they were going to be raising it is why i decided to go. Wanted to see if anything was happening down there yet this year. Looks promising for may, as long as the water can stay at a normal level.

An Eel? I would like to see a pic of that....was it a Lamprey?

Re: Falls of Ohio report
Yes, it looks like it was a lamprey. We took pictures and a video. Just waiting on my cousin to upload them so i can post. I thought it was wild looking.
