Just wondering how the ville fans feel about little rick, according to billy donovan, being the coach in waiting? You would think they would go for someone that's had some experience. Don't know much about him other than being ricks boy. I think its a bad move, but what do I know.
I don't like it at all, terrible idea in my opinion.

He's NOT talking about Donovan he's talking about Rick Pitino's son....
I been thinking that all along. I was wondering when he would be ready and maybe the plan is to work with Dad on every aspect of the game for a few years and then take over.
I would rather see him go coach somewhere else and watch them coach against eachother. Has that ever happened? Father and Son coaching against eachother?
As a UK fan, I LOVE it.
If I were a Cardinal fan, I'd hate it.
Louisville prides itself as being a program above having to take an unproven assistant as their next coach. I would only be satisfied with him if he proves himself as the lead guy at a smaller institution or less prestigious school.

Don, Lil Ricky actually coached here under his Dad first then went to Fla to mentor under Billy. The idea was he could be more rounded and broaden his abilities under two proven successful coaches. Also Donovan wanted him as an assistant and has been very pleased with his work and ability to coach the players.
I would like to see Ralph Williard get the job over Lil Ricky.
I think it's a bad idea for him to take over as coach for the simple fact that no matter what he does he'll be compared to his pops....If he were to struggle recruiting the first couple years and have a couple subpar teams, all the talk and whispers would start that he'll never be as good as Rick...I'd say he's better off starting at a small school and working hisself up to the higher ranks of D1 and L'ville getting a proven coach to take over for Rick....A word to the wise L'ville, DONT HIRE BILLY CLYDE

If Pitino were to leave I would offer the WORLD to Stevens from Butler. If Louisville did land Stevens then Johnny C better get a bigger checkbook.

Good thoughts Woody. In fact there is rumors that Pitino would lobby to get Stevens here. He sings this guys praises ever chance he gets and some believe he is laying the pavement for BS to come here.
Pitino issued two statements yesterday and put this whole thing to bed. He siad he has no idea why Billy said this because they was ZERO truth to it. Went on to say that Lil Ricky won't even come here with that in mind. He wants to start at a Mid Major and pay his dues, his own words.
