Newbi First Post - Concerning Rough River
I have been reading posts here for the last year and finally decided to join.
About 8 of us are going on or annual 3 day fishing trip this Thursday.
This year we chose Rough, and was wondering how high it is, and whats biting? I read the last post on Rough and hybrids and blugill were any newer info, Thanks Dave

Re: Newbi First Post - Concerning Rough River
Today Rough is 13 feet above summer pool. The bass were biting pretty good last Sunday right on edge of the tree lines if you can them. I caught most on the main lake on rock walls. After all this rain I'm not sure what the conditions will be next week. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

You will more than likely have to put in at the state ramp, as the rest of the ramps will be difficult if at all usable. The lake came up 3 feet Sunday alone, with more to come. It is 10 feet below the all time high water mark set back in 89' Good luck and excercise extreme caution for debris. May want to consider a lake in the southern part of the state.

Re: Newbi First Post - Concerning Rough River
Rough is not going to be a place you want to go by Thursday. As of now it is projected to reach 521ft by Thursday (thats as far as the graph goes) and it still shows it rising slightly. That also does not include any additional rain, only what has fallen so far. With more storms headed our way I would say Rough will be the highest it has ever been. Here's the link it has some pretty good and interesting info.

We have a waterfront cabin down there and I am pretty sure I will be able to fish off the deck by this weekend.

There still catching hybrids and the flathead cats are starting to bite but man that lake is messed up. I have been fishing from the bank and leaving my boat at home.
