Kentucky Lake Levels

[B][COLOR=#ff0000]**Lake Levels update** A press release sent out this afternoon from the Land Between The Lakes states, "Tennessee Valley Authority and the Corps of Engineers are predicting the lake level for Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake to rise to 371 feet (12 feet over summer pool)." A RECORD BREAKING LEVEL. [/COLOR][/B] The gates at the dams will be shut off this Friday & Saturday to help flood control on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. On Monday, the gates will be reopened and discharge will continue. The NWS has called the flooding on the Ohio a "catastrophic flood" that we are just now beginning to see the effects of.

12:30 p.m. Thursday Update:
A new press release from the Land Between The Lakes has stated the lakes will now rise to 372' (13 feet over summer pool) by Monday. At 372', a new record would be set by two feet, according to TVA, and would be just three feet from the top of the gates at Kentucky Dam. 375' is the dam's capacity.

I just caught the tail end of a TVA press conference and they claimed the damage was far greater from the tornado's than they expected but the storms were fast moving and they did not get the rain they expected and the flooding would not be as bad as predicted on the Ohio and lower Tennesse river.
