The Shimano Citica is a tough one to beat.
If that's out of your budget, I think the next step down would be the BPS Pro Qualifier.

That is strange. I have 3 of these reels and have never had an issue like that. Sounds like you need to take yours back to the store I'm sure they would be happy to replace it for you.

I have the same problems. I like the Revo.
Guys try loosing the side cap on handle side, turn magnets up on left then push free spool button with lure you are using allowing it to slowly fall then gently throw reel to make sure its not too loose. but some reels are just problem children some BPS and some pinnacles fall into this catagory.
