AAAAARRRRR! Adapt and overcome. I'd try small streams, like Otter Creek as example. I just kick over rocks and grab fast. Careful though...snakes, etc. I heard the snakes around here are particularly "rotten to the corps". :)

If you want to do it by you're self make some traps for them . You can google up crawdad traps. The way we allways done it is use a saine we donr best in shallow water less then 3 feet.
Cedar Creek is always the place I go for small bait fish or crawdads. I have a small sain which is like 5 ft wide and can catch like 10+ crawdads just by dragging the bottom about 10-15 yards. This always works great for me.
are you talking about eating size or fishing size? I catch mine in the creek above 76 falls on lake c. at night with a long handle bait net.
