Barren Water Conditions/Fishing Reports
Hey guys, headed to Barren to camp at the Narrows all weekend. Thought I woudl try and get some kind of report before I head that way. I can see the wtare levels, but that doesnt tell me temps, or water clarity...so any reports on those? How bout fishing reports? I will be targeting green fish and maybe takin the kids pan fishin... not sure.
If i dont get any reports, I will assume they are in that transition to summer haunts, with them pulling the lake at around 3000cfs. That usually means deep diving cranks, c-rigs, jigs, and bottom bouncin a spinner bait along the outermost edge of trees along points and channel swing areas. Maybe a real early morning topwater bite up the skaggs crek area.... Am I on teh right track?
Re: Barren Water Conditions/Fishing Reports
You are assuming correct, there Walker. Water color is stained in some areas, and clear in most, last time is was out the temps were in mid 80,s one week ago. Watch out lake is eating crankbaits right now, lol lol lol. Have fun. BFL took 18+ to win and a lot of 17+ bags, some good fish are being caught.

The bass fishing is very good. I was there all week for the bfl. About everybody had a limit.

Re: Barren Water Conditions/Fishing Reports
I had 10.5lbs/ 5 fish. I couldnt get a bigger bite, had a few nice ones practicing. Ended up 23rd. Seems like most everybody that caught em good, caught them reasonably shallow. Caught mine pitching in the trees.

Thanks Andy, not a bad finish out of almost 100 boats. Good job, I fished the Jim Beam Tourney there last week with a member on here and we had 11 even, came in 2nd, winner had 17. Some good fishing going on at Barren right now.
