I hope someone steps up to the plate to pay his tax liability.
Of course then, the gubment will probably try to TAX the gift........
This college student, who owes 90k in student loans did the RIGHT thing, gave the ball back and the crappy gubment is trying to SCREW HIM......I mean.....REALLY????

Since he got "four luxury suite tickets ", I think it would be fair to pay the taxes by giving the IRS one of the 4 tickets. 25% tax. Let the flipping IRS figure how to get their money out of the ticket.

This is sad to say...but I've been feeling very VERY anti-government here lately.

He will be able to sell the box seats to a few games to cover the tax bill and then some. My bet is if the Yankees make the playoffs he could sell those games and pay off taxes and a chunk of school loans

DJ should step up and help this guy out if he gets hit with the tax bill. Anti gubment tank is full on this end! We have folks in office who have not paid taxes properly or attempt to hide purchases just to cheat the system but this guy has to follow some rules that elected officials can dodge???

This is just crazy, he didn't get any money, all he got is some tickets to baseball games. I love baseball myself but these days most people hate baseball and wouldn't give ya five bucks for some darn tickets.

Well they weren't just some tickets, they were "luxury suite tickets for each of the team's remaining home games, including the postseason" which would cost god knows what.
Also there are just too many coulds, maybes, ifs......... in the story to even let yourself get worked up over the issue IMHO.

I like to PLAY baseball but I really can't stand to watch it. My wife will butter me up to go see the Louisville Bats by saying "$1 beer tonight!!!!" That's how she gets me to go. She really doesn't care much for it but likes to take the kids so I tag along. But not in this heat.
