Gander Mountain
Just found out that Big John just got let go, the reason was that Gander MT was going in a different direction, I will never go into that store again. Big John has helped alot of us on this website and he was there biggest reason alot of people went in there to shop. just saying my peace

Re: Gander Mountain
Didn't know Big Jon, but I'm sure I saw him in there.
I like Gander Mountain. It is a nice place to go to and check things out to see if you want to buy them somewhere else a lot cheaper. That is if they have what you are wanting to look at in stock.

Re: Gander Mountain
Agreed Paul. None of us will buy in there again. I will also encourage everyone else to go else where. The place is terrible any way. Lol

Re: Gander Mountain
I have always hated Gander, 2 or 3 years ago when I decided I wanted to get into fishing again I went there to get advice from the guys on what I should get and/or need. The only guy back there couldnt help me, so he walked me up front to have me wait for some guy at the register to get free, well after 10 minutes of waiting I decided to leave and as i was walking out the manager notices me and decides to ask "Were you been helped?" I just gave them a shitty look and said "No." and walked out the door.
Went over to dicks and the guy in their like 100 square foot fishing section gave me a ton of advice and showed me lures.
the first (and only) time i was helped by a legitimate person with fishing experience at gander mountain was when I ran into Paul there one day. Dont think I ever met the Big John guy everyone speaks so highly of here, so i will obviously exclude him from my experience/opinion

Re: Gander Mountain
I have bought a lot of fishing and hunting stuff from the Evansville Gander Mtn Store over the last few years.
I was never very impressed with the guys in the Fish Dept. I only dealt with Big John once or twice and obviously he had more fishing experience than the rest of those salemen in that dept.
I'd rather go to Bass Pro Shop if it were closer.
