i fish there at least 3 times a week, but for bass, I have seen alot of catfish that people have caught, one time, there was these two guys in a jon boat and i bet they had 15 plus cats, good luck

Paul did you fish all that much in July when it was so hot? You probably fished early or late then. I've not been there much this summer this year. I use to fish a lot during the summer months even in the heat. An Umbrella helps a lot.
As for the catfish, I've heard of peole catching them at night near the Launch ramp and where the culvert empties out into the North End of Loon Pit.
I caught one nice 4 lb catfish while crappie fishing with minnows one day. I've seen a few people coming back with a few catfish that went up to around 6 lbs. So there are some nice Yellow Bulleads in the lakes. I know that they spawn sucessfully in Birddog pit as I have netted some baby yellow bullhead catfish out of that pit.
I have slow down some because of the heat, i just go early and sometimes late in the day,
If you want catfishing hit the Ohio river.
