I don't think the lure looking like a mouse had anything to do with it. If they'll hit that, then they'll hit about any topwater bait.
Never seen a mouse with a treble hook hanging...kind of goes against the whole idea of fishing a mouse, which is for being on top of or in thick vegitation and needing something weedless.
Regardless though, cool video. :)
you might be right, but my buddy was fishing a jitterbug right next to me and did'nt catch anything. I think the tail looking like a senko helps
I liked the video, that was cool. You like that ole ABU you are using they don't make that one anymore, I love mine, those were great reels.
I wouldn't be to quick to discount that bait Art, sometimes they can be very selective....
Agree with Artcarney. The look or detail of the bait had little to do with catching the fish (IMO). I toss frogs or mouse baits in thick stuff or weedy stuff and a treble would not allow that.
The bait looks great but to me only to be used in open water or weed free areas. They need that in a double frog hook like other frog baits (spro) so it can be tossed in the thick stuff. The tail is different and that might get a few extra looks from bass?

Maybe...I might try adding a Senko as a trailer on a Pop-R, Spook, or frog and see how that does.
That reel is pretty decent, I have a really old Cabelas Fish eagle that actually cast better than anything I have, maybe it just worn in or something.

lol - done it before I changed out the rear treble for a worm hook and rigged a 1/2 of a power worm on it - talk about bluegill bites yeah baby!!!! bass it didn't seem to matter.
