Something interesting about Starve Hollow for you bass guys
Yesterday, I talked with a man that works in the Department of Corrections and he's close to some of the game wardens. He said that when they drained Starve Hollow a few years back, they found over two hundred bass that were over seven lbs. I guess some ran up to eight lbs or so, just wondering if any of you guys have heard that.
He went on to say that those two hundred plus fish were divided up and put into John Hay, Delaney and Deam's Lake. That's a trophy bass for Southern Indiana.

I will say this, a few of the lakes you mentioned, I play around at time to time early in the year, panfishing. And this spring I've seen some guys catch some of the biggest bass out of those waters, that I've seen in 20 years. No 7 or 8 lbers, but some fish pushing 4. Don't know if its related or not.

The spring of 2003 I caught a 9.75 out of Starve Hollow . Was weighted at hatchery below the dam and released . If I can firgure out how to post the pic I will , but haven`t firgured that out in the last 20 minutes giving up tonight . I had heard a rumor that they also netted one when they drainedthe lake that was a state record.

Wow, what a pig. I believe every word the guy told me standing in the Wal Mart at Scottsburg. He had absolutely no reason to make a whopper up.

Maybe not, I fish some more than others. But haven't seen too many lunkers in my years of fishing there.

I fish deam as my primary lake... been out about 20 times and caught close to 100 bass this year. biggest has been 2.5... i will say deam has some of the best cover/structure combos ive seen... i dont hear many stories but im sure some good lunkers are in there

I personnaly witnessed one close to 8 lbs being caught at John Hay and lost one at the boat easy over 8 to 9 lbs. Caught it on a DD22 setting in 18 ft of water....
