I have figured out SEC football expansion
Drop Vanderbilt, they don't fit the profile although it does help the conference GPA. They need to add in Texas A&M, and then add Ohio St. and Miami. They can all have a huge bidding war over the top players every year and just make the conference champion as the BCS champion.
Re: I have figured out SEC football expansion
As I posted under The U post, everybody cheats. How bad is it? Right now the University of Alabama is currently on some sort of sanction for NCAA rules violations in the following sports: football, softball, baseball, women's gymnastics, men's and women's basketball, women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track. 18 total sports at ONE university currently under some sort of sanction from the NCAA. How many universities in America times how many sports violating rules, MILLIONS. Just short of the BILLIONS of dollars that are changing hands under the table
Re: I have figured out SEC football expansion
Doesn't the conference champion wind up the BCS champion every year anyway?

Hahahaha seems that way!
Re: I have figured out SEC football expansion
Almost every year, and a whole bunch in a row. Nothing like a bunch of suits and computer geeks sitting around in a room and deciding who is the Mythical National Champion.
I swear I am so fed up with the hypocrisy of big time college sports that I am almost done with it.

Re: I have figured out SEC football expansion
274 different schools have been found out to have committed Major rules violations since 1953. Arizona State and SMU head the list with being caught 8 times each with Majors. 82 schools have been busted 3 times or more. 274 caught and almost 1/3 of them busted 3 times or more tells me they are ALL doing it and a lot. Who gets caught the first time? Face it, College Sports are just like Politicians - THEY ARE ALL CROOKED

Is that for all sports? The SEC has that beat with football alone and likely more to come with Auburn. :D

So it's okay to cheat as long as someone else cheats more? That makes sense,Thank God the Big 12 cheats more than anybody else.

Amen to that. The common threads with the two are money, power, greed and prestige.
To sit back and pick at one sport or conference is silly.....it's fun but it's silly. When a team or conference is at the top they are targeted as cheaters or bending the rules(maybe they do?). When a team or conference is not at the top they do the accusing and wish they could find a way to get to the top.
I remember a crew chief in NASCAR say there are two types of teams in this sport. The ones that cheat and the ones that get caught at it. That goes for all sports in my mind and at all levels from little kids on up to the pro's.

That is not what I said at all. I think most schools cheat, some are just mor over the top blatant with it. And I doubt the Big 12 cheats more than SEC schools in football. The only people who deny that SEC football is known for cheating are....wait for it....SEC fans!

SEC football, home of the last 5 BCS Champions and 6 out of the last 8. SEC teams have 2 choices, cheat like the rest and have a shot at a BCS championship or let all others win the bidding war, not be competitive, fire the coaching staff over and over on a never ending cycle. Kids don't come play Football at Florida, Bama, Auburn, LSU or other power schools for their Academics. They come for the same reason others go to USC, Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan and such, HIGHEST BIDDER WINS!!
