Who wants an EXCELLENT recipe for Salmon Patties
I have always like Salmon Patties all my life. I cook mine the way my grandmother cooked hers, very basic drain and flake the salmon crush the small bones, 1egg, cracker crumbs, diced onions put all in a bowl to mix. Form into small patties and fry on med heat for a couple of minutes each side. But as of tonight, sorry Grandma but I have created the better salmon patty. Take 2 eggs and slightly beatin a bowl, add in 3 teaspoons of minced onions, 1/4 cup ketchup, and about 8 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce, and a cup 1/3 of crushed saltiness crackers. Mix well and then add in a can of salmon that has been cleaned and skin removed. Add 1 cup of yellow corn and salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly and patty out into salmon patties. Fry in veg oil for a couple minutes on med on both sides until brown
The best salmon patty that I ever ate

I haven't had salmon patties in a long time, might have to give it a whirl.
You did mean 1 cup yellow corn meal right?

Nope, Yellow Corn and the crackers could be a little more depending on how much moisture is in the salmon

I'm a salmon patty fanatic also. We also cold packed some when I lived close to lake michigan. I prefer mine the tradional way/ But a couple tbs of cajun fish fry perks em up too

I love those things too but haven't had them very often since I got married 26 yrs ago. My wife refuses to fix them for me because she can't stand the smell. My mom sure could fix some good patties. She always put a dab or two of mustard in there. Man thats good stuff!

My wife and I were raised in the country and some folks would think we have some strange ideas about breakfast food. Sometimes we will have salmon patties, biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I usually like some sliced tomato with that. Fried chicken, biscuit and gravy is not bad for breakfast either. I will try your recipe and thanks.

It's funny how set in their ways people can be about breakfast. When I was working with the horses at Churchill Downs, some people thought it was weird that I would ask for a slice of tomato on my sausage biscuit in the morning. And fish for breakfast doesn't faze me. My parents move to Lewes, DE in the 80's, which was a fishing down for decades but is now more of a resort, and one thing we learned early from the locals was how delicious fried fish roe and eggs is! You just can't get that here.

Three to four pieces of backstrap from small doe dipped in buttermilk and egg mixture then rolled in a lil cornmeal and flour with a lil salt and pepper. Three over easy (brown) eggs fryed in butter and four slices of buttered toast and a big glass of cold whole milk. Makes me hungry!!

You eat the squirrel head and all don't you? My dad would fry the squirrel with HEAD. Then sit there and take a butter knife to crack the skull and scoop out the Green Squirrel Brains onto his biscuit. He can have it because I am not that Hungary yet
