NRL Report
Has anyone fished NRL today or going to this weekend? I would like to know how it goes. Sounds like we're going to have a very hot weekend with a front coming through Sunday into Monday. It will probably shut the fishing down....At any rate I would like to know what's biting.
Thanks Guys!

Re: NRL Report
Well, fellow fishermen. How did we all do this weekend?
I went Monday morning and I caught several LM real early but no keepers. Fished through the rain and when the fish stopped biting we went to the main lake to see if we could change our luck! Got out on the main lake and it was windier than all get out! Couldn't keep the boat on an even line. Pretty much blow us everywhere....BUT after throwing several different baits with no luck I decided to throw a candy apple red lizard! I've had these candy apple red lizards for a long time as I normally don't use them as I haven't EVER had any luck around here with that color except for Monday. The last 1 1/2 told told my fishing buddie that I've got a pattern figured out and told him the color too. We both ended up catching 9 LM the last hr in rough as heck waters with 3 LM keepers. Where we caught there was on the other side of a point because that point provided a hinding spot for LM to ambush fish as they where out of the current!
End the day at 11:30am.
All in all...Could have been a lot worse but end very positive! AND red was the color of the day!

You know, for some reason I've just never really thought about throwing red. I've done it at different Lakes like guntersville but never at NRL. I've had success with other colors so I've kinda stuck to those other color's. But when the fish weren't biting, I had to switch up....and for some reason I put a red lizard...fish loved it! So now I've got to go replentish my stock of red lizards as a went threw all the red lizards I had! :)
