Took my boys to prefish green. They have junior bass tourney their this coming weekend. Went from sun up to sun down and managed only 2 keepers. Threw buzz, spinners, jigs and cranks. Fished main lake and creeks. What are we doing wrong?

Just because you did not catch any fish doesn't mean you are doing something wrong!!
If the water temperature was below 72 degress, I would bet that the lake has turned over ALREADY or is in the process of turning over. I know Barren has turned because I was there last Tuesday and Skags Creek and Beaver Creek had turned over and were on the way back to recovery so they had been turned for a while This early season cold spell has all the lakes turning earlier than normal. Hang in there, by the week end the shad may start moving into the creeks and the boys will catch a bunch.

Fished a little tournament out there Saturday from 7am till 1pm...We won with 10.1lbs but the bite was tough...I think we wound up with 8 keepers and our biggest was just a shade under 3lbs....Once the sun got high the fish seemed to really scatter....We stayed on the main lake all day fishin 8-20ft deep....Didn't catch a good number of fish anywhere, it was just one here and one there....The water temp was 72 and the lake HADN'T started turning over yet...Seemed the guys that went creek fishin caught a lot of small fish

did you guys launch out of the state ramp? is there a bait shop close to the ramp. thanks for any information
Size limit is 12". Good luck to the kids.
12" I caught a limit myself after Crappie fishing with my buddy Saturday. Tubes, Brush Hogs & Jigs on deeper main lake bluff banks & points with ledges. Biggest around 2 & 1/2 Lbs & the rest around 13 to 14". Missed several more as well. Good Luck to both of your sons. When are they fishing.

WOW...sounds like some of you guys were on some fish. My boys are fishing this weekend. It is a 2 day tournament going out of Lone Valley ramp.
