Stoner Report 9/24
Got out to Fryman's this morning for a while...all I can say is the fall bite is ON!!
Had a great day on the water, we caught over 40 bass all together, the biggest being only 3-4 lbs, but lots of keepers. Caught more smallmouth today than I've ever caught out there. They were hitting everything we threw. Jigs, spinnerbaits, worms, cranks, and topwater also. The best LM came on a black buzzbait. We caught almost all of our fish in the main creek, before the fork at Strodes creek.

Re: Stoner Report 9/24
I had never heard anything about Stoner Creek until two days ago. I was talking with a guy about chasing ducks and he mentioned Stoner Creek up around Paris. What is the access like for bank anglers & boaters?

Re: Stoner Report 9/24
For boaters, there are two ramps: Ike's in Paris on Massie Avenue, and Frymans on Spears Mill Road outside of town. They both have a little picnic area that people usually bank fish from, but Frymans' is much bigger. There are much better places to bank fish than from the boat docks though if you don't mind wading.

As far as ramp condition, Fryman's is much wider and easier to load/unload than Ikes. Though Ikes has two ramps, they are both narrow. The one on the left drops off very suddenly, and the one on the right is quite steep, but they work, just not as nice as the one at Frymans.

Re: Stoner Report 9/24
Went to Stoner today and finally found this Fryman's place I've seen mentioned here. $10 to fish on the bank are you kidding me?!

Re: Stoner Report 9/24
Last time I was at Frymans it was only 5 bucks to launch a boat...if fishing off the bank is 10 bucks how much is launching the boat?

Wow, really...10 bucks to bank fish, that guy is nuts lol. Sorry guys, but I have never fished from the bank there, and from the looks of it, I never will.
It's still only five bucks to launch.

Re: Stoner Report 9/24
how much is the launch fee at Ike's? is the fishing there usually as good as at Fryman's? Any deep water? Thanks to all replies.

Re: Stoner Report 9/24
Ike's is 3$, usually not quite as good as Frymans, and the deepest water you will run into at a normal pool is about 13ft or so.
