nolin trip
New to the dicussion board but wanted to do my part. Went to Nolin and bass fished from sun up to sun down. We caught around 40 or so with only one keeper. Most came in the morning with buzzbaits but several hit plastic through-out the day. Was surprised to find 95% of our "after buzzbait" fish were holding tight to stumps and stick ups in the back of creeks. I guess the front put them on the wood. We fished from Conolaway to Rock Creek through out the day and never found any size. Any advise for my future tactics would be appreciated as it seems that the bigger fish always ellude me. Crankbaits were also used but only a couple of fish were caught. We went to the back of the creeks and the shad are starting to move back there but I think they are still midways back as the shad numbers were not like I've seen them in the back of the creeks in October.

Re: nolin trip
I cast my buzz bait short of the bank (10') to avoid the smaller bass seemed to help as we caught more numerous keepers. seemed they would bust it half way between boat and bank coming out of the deeper water. 8to 12'. Didn't go back in any creeks. Stayed in main channel of lake.

Re: nolin trip
I would stay out near the main lake for bigger fish right now IMO. Find coves off the main lake and fish with larger plastics. We had a nice limit on Thursday doing this....read my report. Good luck!
p.s. You will catch shorts at NRL regardless of your tactics, there are just a lot of them in there.
