The Southeastern Conference commissioner, Mike Slive, has announced that he intends to invite the University of Kentucky to join the SEC in football.

In making the announcement Commissioner Slive noted, “We have been trying to get the University of Kentucky to field a football team for a long time now, we are hopeful they will accept today’s invitation and move from playing club football to being a competitive force in the SEC.

University of Kentucky Athletics Director, Mitch Barnhart when reached contacted stated, “We appreciate the invitation from the SEC. At the moment I am fully engaged in finding and hiring a head coach for our Women’s Line Dancing team. We intend to own the state in Women’s Line Dancing! Be assured that football is on my “to do” list in the near future.”
