I vote for this. Those Morehead kids had the game of their lives. I love seeing smaller KY colleges get into the national spotlight from time to time, even if it is at the expense of a larger KY college.

I agree. My March Madness brackets get all jacked up but I don't care if a Cinderella team gets the spotlight. The look on those kids faces who don't expect to go that far or get passed a strong school is priceless.:)
I to felt bitter sweet about it. All the UK mouths were running saying Louisville choked yada yada yada. When actually what happened was Morehead played great and made plays including hitting a monster buzzer beating type shot. Was I happy Louisville lost.......................HELL NO. Was I glad that if it had to happen it happened at the hand of a small school in Kentucky........HELL YES.
Say what you want and God knows the Kitty Kat fans have had more fun out of that game then they did with their first bicycle. But Louisville was picked to finish in 8 or 9th place in the BEast last year and they totally over achieved. Most Hoops publications had the Cards barely making it into the dance and some had them out on pre-season predictions. Why.........................because they had a so so class coming in and had lost senior talent and a few leave for the NBA. They were also beat to heck and back when the NCAA tourney started last year also. Siva had a pulled hamstring and a sprained ankle. Knowles could barely walk from an injury sustained in the BE tourney.
Yea yea I know Woody don't even say it about excuses but injuries with a shallow bench make you suspect for a loss early and you know it. I was overall happy about last years accomplishments. I wish they could have made a run, but that's life. This year thay have a deep bench with better talent so we'll see...
I do find it interesting how much hatred that ALL UK fans have for the BE. And yes I do feel they know that the BE is a much better conference than the SEC in basketball. None will admit it, but they know it just the same.

The BE has had 2 opportunities to squash any questions as to the best Basketball Conference in America and laid a couple of dozen eggs in the 2010 and 2011 Tourneys. I know UCONN won it last year, I know UCONN beat UK and WVU beat UK the year before. As a Conference top to bottom with all the teams the BE got in the last 2 years to see many of them get bounced by lower seed, double digit seeds in the first couple of rounds is a black eye because they are playing teams not from their league. Based on the rankings, the BE is the best conference. Based on the tourney results they are not. This makes it tough because are the Big East teams not as good as the rankings say and beat up on each other most of the year so the strength of schedule and such does not change, or are they all as good as advertised? The tourney is where you play different teams from different leagues on neutral courts at the end of the season, where Freshmen are not Freshmen anymore and teams should be playing their best. Do I think the SEC is better than the BE in Basketball and my answer is NO. Do I think the BE is much better than the SEC in Basketball and my answer is NO. If the BE had won a few more games in the Big Dance and had not lost to so many double digit seeds then my answer would have been YES the BE is better, MUCH BETTER. But that did not happen
Some teams didn't get it done I agree but that doesn't make the conference bad. You know how the tourney rolls, anybody can beat anybody and that is very true. I still say the day is coming we will see a 16 seed beat a 1. In my heart I know it's coming, there is just too much parity in todays college ball and too many superstars.
Look at Butler last year. Louisville spanked them like a Government mule and they were in the title game AGAIN. Did anybody see that one coming???

Hell, by the time the Big East teams got to the big tournament last year, they had beat each other up so badly in their own conference that they couldn't take much more. Basically it was bruised and scarred up Big East teams against fresh unchallenged teams unscathed by their weaker conference opponents. It was about like going 14 rounds with Mike Tyson of the good old days, beating him, and then having to fight a guy the very next day, a guy who has won all of his fights with quick KOs in the first round........

I don't know about this argument. UCONN played like 5 games in 5 days in the BE tourney then took out a 6, 2, 5, and 4 seed on the way to the Championship Game and nobody played more minutes than their star players.
I say if the Be would split up their conference into two divisions..Make each division play each division member twice and if more games are needed to fill out their schedule then they play teams in the other division like the sec does. Then I think the BE would not get the exact rankings as in the past in the NCAA Top 25. The teams in the BE don't play but like 3 teams x 2 during their entire Be Conference Schedule...which gives teams an advantage on not having to possibly play more power house teams.
So if you only have to play say 2 teams in the Top tier of the Big East and all the rest of your games are against the lower ranked teams..It makes your record look good as far as wins is concerned...But when it comes time to play in the NCAA tournament...You get the results of the BE conference over the past few years in the Tournament.
Give UCONN their due, they won the Tournament...But the rest of the Big East Teams didn't do as well as everyone had thought they would have done.
A lot of up and coming sports writers in the Ky area could learn alot from you boneheads,,,that's awesome.
Oh...gotta go NCIS is on
Morehead alum and L'ville (and UK) fan. Can't lose :)
