There are plenty of problems with unions, but the problem occurs whenever someone gets something they don't deserve. That's no different than some moron manager gets a big salary to watch TV in their office because they're friends with the boss. Either way, if you didn't earn it, you're not worth it.
$156k pension for one day of work indicates that the pension system should be revamped or eliminated completely.
