CARP'N on the BRL in the KY.. Yo!!
Well, after a Boston Red Sox kinda day yesterday I had to get back out there today just to make sure I wouldn't be a crabby pants all week. A little less wind today and after the fog burned off it turned out to be a nice day. I was wondering how the Hillbilly Bones were going to react with this cold snap we had, but they seemed to be right where they always are! Saw plenty of fish and found 2 mudders that wanted to play!! I'll take it!!
Hope you guys aren't getting tired of my carp.... I mean crap! :D

The Backstabber Fly seals the deal again!

I'll never get tired of seeing your pictures knowing how much fun crap, opps carp can be.And your doing it with a fly,i mite get me a long bow & try it from a kayak...........did that as a kid in a speedo & got my picture in the Bay City Times, think i was 9 or so in a John Boat with a 20hp.......

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that loves to catch carp. I've been catching some nice ones here in Louisville on the Ohio, never used a fly rod though. I can't figure out why more people don't fish for them, they fight twice as hard as largemouth bass.

:D You'll have no trouble at all sneaking up on them with a Kayak and buggy whip!! Plus, you'll get even more skinny than a boat that way! This summer there were some big boys with their backs out of the water way up in the real skinny water. Made me want to get out and wade...:D

I'll have to agree with you Rocketman!! There's just something about finding these guys, figuring out their mood and then watching them turn on a bug and **** it up!
Never gets old! :D
Re: CARP'N on the BRL in the KY.. Yo!!
One day while i was ice fishing on Tawas Bay in Mi i seen one swim by & didn't know what it was till i told an old timer about seeing it.After he told me i knew it was game on.I fished the hole day and only seen it or another one swim threw my hole in the ice.My hole was about 2ftX18in. in a 4ftX8ft shanty. It was about 16ft deep water with 2ft of ice.On the ice out side sat my 1ton Chevy truck with a 10ft avon camper on it.OK back too the fish story. When it swam by the 2nd time i speared it with a 5ft long spear on a rope. The carp was 3ft long & weight was 26lbs.it was Gold too.I took it home and the black family who watched my son while i worked took it and ate it.Like too get back too some ice fishing again soon.
