Is it just me?

There's been a lot more bickering on this fishin.com site than I have ever witnessed before...I know it's got heated a few times each year during sports seasons, but this year the gloves came off before the bell for the first round even rang, or so it seems to me.

Is it just me or do you all think what's happened here on fishin.com echoes what is going on in our country right now? It sure does seem like a violent, angry and bitter world we live in to me. So many people have no respect for others nor any respect for themselves. Not saying anyone on fishin.com falls into THIS particular category, but take a walk with me during lunch and you'll get a feel for it.

A keyboard, a screen name, and idle time makes many a hero...

I like to think of myself as "Switzerland". I try to stay neutral with most of this. I might get into it a little concerning politics but argue about sports and whose team is the beast? Geez, grow up people, it's just a game.

I do have to add that I graduated from Purdue so I can never "brag" about Purdue sports.:o I chose this university for the education it could provide, not where the football or basketball teams ended up in national rankings.:cool:

Funny you posted this as I was going to earlier today but decided against it. There does seem to be quite a bit more short fused posts on here as of late, and it mirrors the general mindset of the public in my opinion. I deal with people every day and I have noticed since money has tightened up, people have become very rude and self serving. It gets very frustrating constantly being bitched at because something doesn't go someones way. I log on here to take a break from that, and IT'S ON HERE TOO. Personally I could give two steaming pieces of monkey crap about UK U of L football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, shuffleboard, or whatever sport they might be playing.

I don't think that what we are reading on Fishin.com has to do with what is going on the personal lives of these people unless they are either drug addicts, drunks, or raving lunatics, and that would be a minimal number. I think there are some armchair quarterbacks who can't separate fantasy (wanna'be) from reality and keep thinking they are the most valuable player. For two years I've watched three of those wanna'be guys circling the airport but their plane still hasn't come in for a landing.

Peeps, I don't get on here to upset people...It is my time to rile up U of L fans and UK fans or whoever else's teams fans i might have a post for. I don't put up lies or misguided posts, but tell it how i see the apple hanging on the tree.

I'm disabled and on quite a bit of medication each day from having 5 major back surgeries, but have been called a quack, doped up ******* and quite a few other names, but it don't bother me at all....I can take anything that's thrown at me and come right back and give it back.

But when you start sending me private messages telling me what to do or what to do, I think you've stepped over the line a bit. Not gonna name any names, but dude you went to far and let your actions and thoughts get the best of you while reading a message board.....

Ok...CMI is on to it too, good, so now I know it's not just me. I wasn't just referencing the bickering about sports or anything else on fishin.com in particular, but more so I was thinking in larger terms about our society today in general. It just sort of seems to me that fishin.com is feeling it too.

Dollars ain't as plentiful as they once was. For those of us that are fortunate enough to have steady and gainful employment in these difficult economic times, we aren't riding as free and easy as we once were either. The company man wants more from us. Our competitors are willing to give a little more of themselves therefore if we want to stay in the game then we have to give more of ourselves if we want to eat. It just seems the older I get the less I'm willing to give, but at the same time I know I gotta do what I gotta do.

In my opinion it seems like temperatures are rising all across the land, far and wide, high and low.

I don't know if it directly reflects these certain people's lives, I was just generally speaking. Seems some people on here are a lot quicker to fly off the handle than they once were. I see it every day at work, money (or lack of) can be a very evil thing. I'm not pointing fingers, placing blame or calling anyone out. Just making a general statement and agreeing with Chubminnow. I actually have had quite a few laughs over the bickering on here. Have a great day folks, lets go stomp out some fires.

Naw I have seen it way worse. We had a few others here years ago that would take things like politics so serious they got themselves banned. One guy even said he would hit me or punch me if I was face to face with him. Lol I knew he was upset!!

Some folks just took this board as gospel and let it get to them. When I get that fired up I take a break.
Life is way to difficult with other stuff....why let an informative and fun place get your undies in a wad?

No, it's not just you, we've all seen it. And now what we're seeing is excuses for it. This horse isn't just dead, it's unrecognizable as an equine. Will everybody please just walk away from it, and not mention it again?
